5 Yummy Low Fat Smoothie Recipes

Healthy recipes for weight loss

 

Fruit smoothies are a nutritious and simple way to curb your appetite and provide your body with healthy food. There are no special contraptions required, just a plain old blender will do just fine!

You will also need fruit, and milk, low fat yogurt, or juice to use as a base for your drink.

 

Other ingredients you may want to include are:

  • protein powder
  • flax seed
  • nuts
  • honey
  • cinnamon
  • chia seeds.

 

Below are some terrific smoothie recipes that you can tweak to your personal taste:

 

Apple Berry Blast Smoothie

 

1/2 cup fresh or frozen strawberries

1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries

1/2 cup frozen raspberries

1/2 cup apple juice

1/2 teaspoon lemon juice

1/2 cup nonfat yogurt

1/2 cup ice

 

Add all ingredients to blender. Blend until smooth.

 

Tropical Dream Smoothie

 

1 cup fresh or frozen pineapple chunks

1/2 banana

1/2 cup orange juice

2 tablespoons coconut milk

1/2 teaspoon lime juice

1/2 cup nonfat vanilla yogurt

1/2 cup ice

 

Add all ingredients to blender. Blend until smooth.

 

Mango Madness Smoothie

1 cup mango chunks

1 cup peach chunks

1 cup peach nectar

2 tablespoons lime juice

 

Add all ingredients to blender. Blend until smooth

 

Minty Melon Smoothie

 

1 1/2 cups diced honeydew melon

1/2 cup nonfat lemon yogurt

1 cup green grapes

1 tablespoon chopped fresh mint

Fresh lemon juice to taste

 

Combine the honeydew melon and lemon yogurt in a blender. Add the grapes and mint. Blend until smooth.

 

 

Banana Split Smoothie

 

8 oz. lowfat milk

1 ripe banana, in chunks

1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder (or to taste)

2-3 ice cubes (omit if banana is frozen)

1/8 teaspoon vanilla

Stevia sweetener to taste

 

Add all ingredients to blender. Blend until smooth.
