Eat Your Way to Beautiful Skin

Changing your diet and focusing on certain foods will improve your overall health and appearance as well. Try incorporating the following foods into your diet to give your skin that added glow:

  • Salmon, Oysters, and Shellfish

Omega-3 and zinc are high in content in many fish, shellfish and oysters. Zinc helps control acne and also promotes new cell growth, which sloughs away old cells and reveals fresh, new skin underneath. Omega-3 will remove inflammation and keep skin moist and plump.

  • Foods with Beta-Carotene

Green, leafy vegetables such as spinach and kale, mustard greens and collard greens are rich in beta-carotene. When beta-carotene is ingested, it converts into Vitamin A, which is an antioxidant. New cell growth is promoted with Vitamin A, giving the skin a glowing appearance. Any vegetables with a red, green or orange color are high in beta-carotene.

  • Nuts

Eating nuts can be a delicious and easy snack to give your skin a youthful look. Almonds are one of the best choices to add Vitamin E and Omega-3 to your diet. Vitamin E will help relieve dryness, leaving the skin more moisturized and healthy.

  • Berries

Grab a handful of delicious berries such as strawberries, blueberries, or raspberries for a low calorie, refreshing snack that is great for your skin. These tiny treats are packed with antioxidants that promote cell growth and decrease inflammation.
