6 Tips to Curb Your Appetite
No matter how hard you try, you still struggle with controlling your appetite. The cravings can be so strong, that you end up giving in to them, no matter how many times you tell yourself not to.
Have no fear! With these simple tips, you can begin to manage your food, and soon the urges to eat inappropriately will be a thing of the past!
- Eat Lean Protein for Breakfast
By eating lean protein such as low fat yogurt or egg whites for breakfast, your stomach will feel full longer and you won’t be tempted to eat unhealthy choices such as donuts.
- Eat Almonds
When you start to feel a craving for something crunchy, such as potato chips, opt for the healthier choice by eating a handful of almonds. The oleic acid and unsaturated fats in the nuts will eliminate hunger and help you resist poor choices.
- Vitamin B-3 Supplements
It has been proven that taking Vitamin B-3 supplements will reduce cravings for sugar. Be sure to consult your doctor before adding any supplements to your regimen.
- Green Tea
Green tea consumption will cause your body to release a hormone called cholecystokinin, which is a natural appetite suppressant. Green tea is also a natural fat burner. The next time you want to eat when you shouldn’t, grab a cup of green tea.
- Spice it Up
Instead of using salt, which will cause water retention, add some spices to your food. Cinnamon will reduce your sugar cravings because it lowers blood sugar. Hot sauce will also decrease your appetite when added to food.
Sniffing vanilla or peppermint will help eliminate cravings. Keep small bottles of extract on hand or light scented candles when you start to feel the urge to eat.
